This self-portrait is a rare painting by the influential printmaker Iain Macnab.

Born in the Philippines to Scottish parents, Macnab later trained at the Glasgow School of Art. In 1925 he became founding principal of the Grosvenor School of Modern Art, London. He is now best remembered as an influential teacher and for his pioneering work with linocuts and wood engraving.
