Hexagonal brooch by Unknown Artist

This diminutive medieval brooch was discovered near Lincoln in 2011.

The hexagonal frame features a triangular cross-section bearing the inscription ‘+IO SVI CI EN LIV DAMI’ – ‘I am here in the place of a friend (I love)'.


Found by metal detector on 1st October 2011 and declared Treasure.
