Touchstones Rochdale was one of five museums to win a share of £75,000 to buy their selected object thanks to Art Fund Collect, an initiative in collaboration with the Crafts Council, aimed at championing contemporary craft and increasing its presence in UK collections.

This work, as with the other pieces in MoriÂ’s long running 'Propagation Project' series, hinges on the concept of accidental beauty. It consists of multiples of individually forged components, each subtlely different as a result of a hand-hammering process, connected together to build a chance form, subject to its own highly dynamic, organic logic.
