Endeavoring to tell the artists story as fully as possible, the gallerys holdings span the length of his career. Cornish Well is a bold painting using few colours which emphasise the landscape depicted. Bawden's watercolours were often produced on holidays and show a different side of the artist. The Printing of the Sunday Times is a particularly strong example of the artists well-known commercial linocuts.
