This kinetic sculpture is powered by a motor which spins around polished aluminium discs, reflecting the light and surrounding environment.

It creates complex optical effects in which the discs seem to share the same surface despite their staggered composition. Martin came to prominence in the mid-1960s London art world for his paintings, kinetic sculptures and light installations. The sculpture's circular or rotary movement is typical of MartinÂ’s work of the period. This work complements the other existing kinetic works in the Leeds collection by artists such as Marcel Duchamp and Bruce Lacey.
