This drawing represents the important moment in her career moving from her cold war inspired darker sculptural objects towards the more optimistic, free floating sculptures with obvious organic references. This reflects the shift in emphasis explored by Bontecou before her withdrawal from the art world in 1927 and is a rare example of drawing from her period of self-imposed exile. This work was presented by the Art Fund through Art Fund International.
