1) STABILA looks like an abstract arrangement of coloured rectangles from a distance. However the images depict the bruised arms and torso of a man taken from Glasgow police records of an assault using a Stabila-manufactured spirit level. 2) The Past ... is an enlargement of three Elba folders that the artist uses day-to-day for archive purposes. It is a playful conceptual trick in the style of the American Pop Artists working in the 1960s although Myless subject is more mundane. This is the first work by Myles to be acquired for the Glasgow collection.
