The American artist, Kruger is best known for artworks that combine images with text to examine issues of power and control.

This work features her trademark designs: a found black and white image (probably sourced from 1980s advertising) overlaid with a short black and white text contained within a red frame. In this work Kruger combines seemingly disparate words and image to provoke thoughts and associations in the mind of the viewer. Kruger's work will be a valuable international addition to the Glasgow photography collection as well as enhancing the gallery's collection of works by artists who champion issues relating to women's rights. This photograph was presented by the Art Fund through Art Fund International.
