This tapestry consists of a composition of vibrant colourful flowers with tiny insects and birds.

It was woven specifically for an exhibition at Nature in Art in 2009 which featured works from the Ramses Wissa Wassef Arts Centre. The Centre was set up to revitalize traditional crafts and techniques by reintroducing them to modern-day life. The weavers are now producing beautiful original works inspired by the Egyptian countryside. The Art Fund has helped the Royal Albert Memorial Museum in Exeter acquire a work from this exhibition and the museum has already acquired two other tapestries from a generous benefactor. This work complements the others as it contains no figures and just concentrates on nature.

Provenance
