On each side, Gober has presented an image that is embedded into a page from the newspaper. On the face of it they appear unrelated however the strength of this work derives from the realisation that the two halves of the diptych are not purely opposites; they have something forcefully compelling to do with each other and refuse to stay separate. Gober's haunting art is characterised by enigmatic dualisms that weave together themes of childhood, sexuality, memory, loss, and spiritual redemption. Presented by the Art Fund through Art Fund International.
