The work depicts a lion sitting slumped and dejected made of torn sacking. The head composed of the corners of a sack is immediately reminiscent of the hooded figures taken captive by the Americans in the Iraq war. The words which appear across the lions body give evidence of the cloths original purpose and provide an international sense to the idea of mans inhumanity to man and beast.
