This work was purchased by the Art Fund at Collect 2008, the Craft Council's contemporary craft fair, as part of a new £50,000 initiative called Art Fund Collect.

The scheme provided curators early access to the fair and the promise of 100% grants allowing them to compete with private collectors and expand their regional collections, whilst raising the profile of public collections of contemporary craft in the UK. The Whitworth was among the ten shortlisted institutions at the preview and this work one of work purchased by the Art Fund. This textile work is based on a wall of a building in Gaza. It is hung away from the wall to create a shadow as the silk organza allows for areas of translucency and opacity, and the creation of filtered light and shadows. This purchase was jointly funded by Crafts Council Patrons and the Art Fund.
