Porter's works are inspired by what lies on the ground, so that the image appears flat, without a horizon.
The work lies in the twilight zone between total abstraction and some attempt at realism. The artist stated, 'The surfaces are multi-layered, natural elements are camouflaged and concealed and are only just visible, whilst others are obvious and totally unrecognisable.' Nature in Art collects and exhibits works of art inspired by all aspects of wild rather than cultivated nature.
