Art Everywhere was a national outdoor art exhibition that flooded the streets with great British art in the summers of 2013 and 2014.
Some of the finest curators and creatives put together a list of great British masterpieces for the public to vote for their favourites. More than 38,000 votes were cast to find the 25 works that would be spread across over 30,000 bus shelters, billboards and poster sites.
Artists, curators, media owners and entrepreneurs fuelled this massive charitable project. Founding partners were Richard Reed (co-founder of Innocent Drinks), Art Fund, Tate, creative agency 101, Posterscope, Vizeum, and Easyart. It was led by Clear Channel, Exterion Media and JCDecaux, including Ocean Outdoor, Storm and Outdoor plus with additional support in 2014 from Facebook and Vue Cinemas.
Antony Gormley created an exclusive digital commission for Art Everywhere 2014. Using an iPad to make the work in one continuous motion, the piece was shown on digital sites nation wide as part of the summer-long exhibition. Entitled Feeling Material, Gormley made 100 signed, limited editions of the work which could be acquired by donating to the campaign.
