Teacher Art Pass Terms and conditions

Please read these terms and conditions carefully before submitting an application or renewal for Teacher Art Pass membership. You should understand that by submitting the application online you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions and agree to our Privacy Notice. These terms and conditions of membership should also be read in conjunction with the Terms of use of this website and mobile applications.

Art Fund is the operating name of the National Art Collections Fund (“Art Fund”), a charity registered in England and Wales with charity number 209174 and in Scotland with charity number SC038331. In these Terms & Conditions, references to “Art Fund” or “us” or “we” should be read as referring to The National Art Collections Fund.

References to “you” “your” “yourself” in these terms and conditions generally refer to any person purchasing a Teacher Art Pass for their own use.

1. Application for Membership, Eligibility and Benefits

Membership categories and add-ons

1.1 Membership of Art Fund can be obtained through the purchase or renewal of a Teacher Art Pass.

1.2 Purchase or renewal of a Teacher Art Pass grants annual membership of Art Fund to one individual.

1.3 'Plus One' is a membership add-on that enables Art Fund members to visit museums, galleries and properties included in the Art Map with a guest so that both member and guest can gain free or discounted entry to the museums or other relevant benefits listed in the Art Map upon presentation of a valid Teacher Art Pass with a 'Plus One'. The guest does not become a member of Art Fund.

1.3.2 ‘Plus Kids’ is an add-on that enables Art Fund members to visit museums, galleries and properties included in the Art Map with children in their family who are under 16 years old so that both member and child/children can gain free or discounted entry to the museums or other relevant benefits listed in the Art Map upon presentation of a valid Teacher Art Pass with a ‘Plus Kids’. The child does not become a member of Art Fund.

1.3.3. 'Plus One' and 'Plus Kids' must be bought in conjunction with a Teacher Art Pass membership and cannot be purchased separately under any circumstances (To view the current fee of an annual membership with a 'Plus One' or 'Plus Kids' please click here).

Eligibility

1.4. You must be a Teacher in a registered UK early years, primary/secondary school or further education college.

1.5. ‘Teacher’ refers to those who are, classroom teachers, teaching assistants, technicians, librarians, middle leaders such as subject leaders, managers, heads of year, deputy heads and curriculum coordinators, part of the senior leadership team, and head teachers. It does not include administrative staff, auxiliary staff, or other school support staff.

1.6 We may also ask you at any time to provide documentation supporting your eligibility for Teacher Art Pass membership. Failure to provide the documentation requested within 10 working days will result in the cancellation of your membership, and any Teacher Art Pass received prior to the cancellation of your membership must be returned to us.

1.7. A Teacher must make their own application for a Teacher Art Pass if using the online checkout at artfund.org, no one can apply for a Teacher Art Pass on behalf of someone else or as a gift for someone else using Art Fund’s online checkout at artfund.org. Schools may purchase Teacher Art Passes for their teachers but purchases by schools on behalf of teachers must be made by contacting Supporter Services.

1.8. Art Fund reserves the right to reject applications for membership at its sole discretion.

How to apply

1.9. Teacher Art Pass membership can be obtained by applying online at artfund.org.

Payment

1.10. You must not use borrowed, stolen or forged payment methods to make your payment. Should you do so, you agree to accept full responsibility for such action and to indemnify the Art Fund in respect of all actions, claims, damages, liability, fees, costs and expenses whatsoever that arise as a result of such actions.

1.11. When buying or renewing a membership for your own use, payment can be made by Direct Debit, credit or debit card.

1.12. When payment is made by credit or debit card, the subscription fee will be debited at the time of your application.

1.13. Where a membership subscription is paid by Direct Debit, we will notify you at least 3 days in advance prior to any payment being debited.

1.13.1 If you wish to cancel a subscription, notification must be received by our Supporter Services team at least 5 working days before the Direct Debit due date to ensure that our records can be amended in time. Any Teacher Art Pass received prior to the cancellation of your Direct Debit must be returned to us. Failure to provide such notice will result in the Direct Debit being paid and non-refundable.

1.13.2 No refunds will be provided unless these notice requirements are complied with. If notice has not been given within the specified period and payment has occurred, you are still entitled to cancel your membership, but we are not obliged to offer you a refund.

1.13.3 Please note that charity vouchers and payment methods other than accepted payment methods listed above will not be accepted for membership subscriptions, in compliance with HMRC guidelines.

Refunds

1.14. Membership of the Art Fund through the purchase/renewal of a Teacher Art Pass is a form of charitable giving. Once a subscription has been paid and a Teacher Art Pass has been issued, no refunds can be made.

Benefits

1.15. Membership of the Art Fund includes:

    • one Teacher Art Pass
    • Art Quarterly magazine
    • Art Map publication and
    • Art in your Inbox fortnightly email communication.

Please note you can update your preferences at any time by going to your “My Art Fund” account or contacting us.

1.16. Art Quarterly magazine is published quarterly in March, June, September and December. Each issue looks forward to what’s happening in the coming months around the UK and beyond, and comments on the events and issues of the day. It includes in-depth features, interviews, previews, news and opinion, by writers, critics, commentators and experts in the field, alongside details of every work of art that Art Fund has helped museums and galleries to acquire over the past quarter thanks to the support of its members and donors.

1.17. Art Quarterly will be sent by post to you as an active Teacher Art Pass member during the first week of the month of publication.

1.18. Art Quarterly magazine is not available for sale.

1.19. Art Map is a publication that lists the museums, galleries and historic properties that offer free or discounted entry to Art Fund members as a thank you for Art Fund’s support.

1.20. Art Map is published annually and is sent to new members in their welcome pack.

1.21. Art Fund cannot guarantee the accuracy of the contents of the Art Map. During the year, some venues may close temporarily due to events or refurbishments, or their prices may change. We strongly advise members to check with individual venues in advance for current opening times and prices.

1.22. Art is your inbox is a e-newsletter sent to members fortnightly. A guide to art across the UK with suggestions on how members can make the most of their Teacher Art Pass, it also includes updates on Art Fund’s charitable work and activities.

Admittance to the Art Fund's Annual General Meeting is limited to active members who are able to show a valid Teacher Art Pass on the day or whose Teacher Art Pass expired less than three calendar months prior to the Annual General Meeting. If you do not renew within 3 calendar months after the expiry of your Teacher Art Pass, your membership of Art Fund will come to an end.

2. Delivery

2.1. Your Teacher Art Pass will be delivered to the address that you provide when you complete your application form.

2.2. Free standard delivery to UK addresses is by Royal Mail second class service. Applicants are advised to allow ten working days for the card to arrive. Art Fund is not responsible for delays or missing post.

3. Using your Teacher Art Pass

3.1 Your Teacher Art Pass is proof of your membership of Art Fund. Members must have a valid Teacher Art Pass with them to gain free or discounted entry to museums, galleries and historic properties included in Art Map.

3.1.1. Members that do not have a valid Teacher Art Pass with them will be asked to pay the full entry fee and refunds cannot be given at a later date.

3.2. When admission tickets to venues are booked online or by telephone, the Teacher Art Pass must be shown on request at point of collection.

3.3. Admission discounts and offers provided by the venues are subject to change from time to time. Where possible, changes will be published in Art Quarterly and on the Art Fund’s website artfund.org. We strongly advise members to contact the individual venues before visiting to prevent disappointment.

4. Replacements

4.1. Lost Teacher Art Passes will be replaced once free of charge upon request to the Supporter Services Team. Any subsequent replacement cards will incur an administration free of £5.00.

4.2. Art Fund reserves the right to reject requests for additional replacement cards where at least two replacement cards have been issued within a period of six months.

4.3. A replacement copy of the last issue of Art Quarterly magazine and the current issue Art Map will be sent by post once free of charge upon request to the Supporter Services Team.

4.4. Copies of older issues of Art Quarterly and Art Map cannot be provided.

5. Variation of these terms and conditions

5.1. Art Fund reserves the right to vary these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Such variations shall become effective immediately upon posting on Art Fund’s website. These Terms and Conditions were last updated on 3 April 2023.
