Waterlilies on the River Cherwell, Shipton-on-Cherwell, Oxfordshire
William Turner (of Oxford), c. 1854

The manor, which is just visible, and the estate of Shipton-on-Cherwell, were owned by the artist's uncle. Lilies and rushes are seen to flourish in the foreground which was an effect of the stream being deepened at this time.
