The oval seat and almost circular back are covered with leather fastened with brass-headed pins around the edge. There are leather pads similarly fixed to the snaked arms. The short legs are of cabriole form with club feet. Part of a donation of 16 gifts and 1 bequest to five museums by the Brigadier Clark Fund through the Art Fund between 1936 and 1992.
