Two Russian Icons

Unknown artist, 1500–1800

1) Possibly a 16th century copy of an icon known as 'Our Lady's Tenderness'; 2) Icon with scenes from the life of Christ, late 18th century. These two paintings are part of a collection of 33 works presented to 17 public collections by Mr L M Angus-Butterworth in memory of his father, the late Walter Butterworth.
