Two designs for the tomb of Pope Paul III

Guglielmo Della Porta, 1530–1577

Designs for a well known tomb in St Peter's, but not as large nor splendid as intended. The monument was intended to be free-standing. 8 life-size recumbent nudes were to encircle the base and a great bronze of Pope to be seen from every side.
