This work was purchased with assistance from the David and Liza Brown Bequest Fund through the Art Fund and previously titled Getting Together. David and Liza Brown bequeathed a sum of money to be spent by Southampton City Art Gallery on works of art produced after 1900. David Brown advised Southampton to purchase 'Melons' by Lisa Milroy in 1986. This painting is Milroy's most complex 'Geisha' painting and ably demonstrates Milroy's recent artistic development in style and subject matter.
