Three drawings of Rose la Touche
John Ruskin, 1819–1900
Ruskin met the sitter in 1858 and fell in love with her. They had an unhappy relationship which lasted the whole of his later life. Portrait drawings by Ruskin are rare. 1) Oval, 41.8 x 34.2 cm. 2) 48.6 x 33.4 cm. 3) 39 x 27 cm, c.1860.
