Art Funded by you

The Red Book for Ouston

Humphry Repton, 1792–1793

11 pages of manuscript including drawings in watercolour, pen and ink, and a plan. Signed and dated 'August 28th 1792' and 'Feb 1793'. Contemporary calf gilt binding. Repton devotes most of his Red Book to a discussion of the correct siting of the house, a decision which if botched could make his job of landscaping the park doubly difficult.
