The Oxburgh Altarpiece

Unknown artist, 1500–1520

The central section contains a carved and gilded passion cycle which is continued on the painted doors. Scenes from the Life of St James of Compostella are depicted on the lower sections of the wings. When closed the doors show Fathers of the Church. The panel illustrated shows Resurrection on the two wings to the right.
