The Cosway Salt

Unknown artist, 1584–1585

Pillar salt in three sections, decorated with strapwork, fruit, flowers and grotesque masks. The finial is formed as a warrior and the four feet as horses. Hallmark on all 3 parts London 1584-5, makers mark a jug, unidentified.
