The Bowes Cup

One of only 8 surviving two-handled cups in gold from the reign of Charles II and appears to be the earliest example of a race prize cup. The cup bears the arms and crest of Sir William Bowes of Streatlam, and his wife Elizabeth Blakiston of Gibside.
