This early work presents a view of the Dogana, the entrance to the Grand Canal, the Molo, and Riva degli Schiavoni, with St Mark's in the background. The picture was painted from the point of the Giudecca, showing, in the foreground, part of the Fondaco di S. Giovanni with figures and boats.
