The Assumption of the Virgin, with St Thomas receiving her girdle

Relief in alabaster, painted and gilt. English (Nottingham School). This work was donated by Max Rosenheim, who was a financier and part of the Executive Committee of the Art Fund from its inauguration. He was a well known collector of engravings and medals and also Trustee of the British Museum.
