Malcolm Appleby has been working in Scotland since 1968 and is widely recognized as one of the United Kingdom's most brilliant and creative silversmiths. This bowl is the first in a series of four on the swan theme, in honour of his wife Philippa Swann. It is a fine example of his virtuosity in composition, embossing and engraving.
