Suit of Armour

Unknown artist, 1631–1640

A complete, unrestored suit of armour worn by the King's Champion at the coronation of James II. The ventail of the helmet is pierced with circles; the gauntlets have their original crimson fringes as do the pauldrons and gorget. Made by the Royal Armouries.
