Study of Trees in Spring

Lionel Bicknell Constable, 1828-1884

This work is principally in shades of green. A large tree, perhaps an elm, stands in a row of smaller trees with a glimpse of distant, flat country under a blue sky. There is a suggestion of breeze in the foliage. The grant is for two works.
