
George III punch bowl with ogee in profile, moulded lip and pedestal foot. Engraved on one side, 'Henry Hegg Esqr, Mayor 1785', with coat of arms, supporters, motto, and crest of the City. Hegg, a druggist admitted to the freedom of the City of Chester in 1758 and a Councilman in 1762. It carries the hallmark of London, 1784, and the maker's mark of Hester Bateman.
