Silver cup

Unknown artist, c. 2nd–3rd century

The cup is decorated with olive branches and the leaves and berries are done in high relief. As was common practice in Roman times, the bowl was made in two parts and then fitted together, an inner liner, and an outer casing. The junction has been skilfully made at the rim.
