This classic piece of English furniture, beautifully finished and in fine condition, is of considerable local interest as it is by a cabinet maker recorded as working in North Cheshire at an unusually early date. Stylistically the secretaire belongs to the 1790s, but it may be slightly later, from the period 1800-1805. It is stamped twice with the maker's mark 'R.Bradley, Warrington'.
