Portrait of Sir Thomas Phillips in Arab Dress

Richard Dadd, 1842–1843

Sir Thomas Phillips was Dadd's patron, whom he accompanied on a tour which included Egypt, where this picture was painted. This watercolour is one of the last pictures of any significance which Dadds painted before his mental illness.
