Sir Joshua Reynolds, 1756

The sitter was the father of Mrs. William Ferroneau of Christchurch Mansion, now the Ipswich branch museum. He was born about 1701, created a baronet in 1747, and died in 1758. Christchurch Mansion was purchased by the Ferroneau family in the 1730s and the family lived in it until the 1890s.
