Portrait of Mrs John Patteson (nee Elizabeth Staniforth, born 1760) painted in oval. Part of John Patterson's collection which was enlarged by the fortuitous inheritance, by marriage, of the core of the collection of the Suffolk antiquary Rev.Cox Macro DD, a major part of which was a group of paintings by Peter Tillemans (1684-1734) of Antwerp.
