Portraits of Dr Ward (1679-1758), & his sister Abigail Ward. Dr Ward, a close friend of Ramsay's, was a distinguished scholar, Fellow of the Royal Society, Fellow and Director of the Society of Antiquaries, and one of the original Trustees of the British Museum.
