Half length portrait of Jean Abercromby, daughter of General James Abercromby of Glassaugh, Banffshire and later wife of Captain George Morison of Haddow. The work recalls Ramsay's celebrated portrait of his second wife, Margaret Lindsay of 1759 in the National Gallery of Scotland, Edinburgh.
