Half length seated portrait of Ellen Sarah Gibbs as a little girl. signed and dated. Ellen Sarah Gibbs later became Mrs Edgar Holl, the artist's future sister-in-law. Part of a bequest of three works to the Victoria and Albert Museum by Mrs C M Baker through the Art Fund in 1957.
