Portrait of a Man
Unknown artist, c. 1520–1525

The bearded man in the portrait projects a clear sense of confidence, strength and dignity. The composition and execution of the work is very close to the work of Gossaert, particularly the framing arch but the technique and distorted proportions are closer to the work of Jan Cornelisz Vermeyen.
