Popular Madonna

Philip Eglin, 2002

© The artist

A seated Madonna with the Christ Child standing on her knee impressed with signs and Ms similar to those used by the burger chain Macdonald's. The madonnas were inspired by northern medieval woodcarving but include references to the detritus of contemporary life.
