This drawing represents Pope Clement VII in conference with the Emperor Charles V and others. Behind the curtains in the background stands a monstrance between the Papal tiara and the Imperial crown. The subject represented is presumably one of the meetings held in Bologna immediately before the Emperor's coronation in February 1530.
