Pair of George II Side Tables

Henry Flitcroft, 1740

These tables have a strongly architectural character and were probably made for the 4th Earl of Shaftesbury when St. Giles's House was refurbished in the 1740s. The architect was Henry Flitcroft, who like many Palladian designers, also designed furniture.
