Art Funded by you
Nativity with God the Father and the Holy Ghost
Giovanni Battista Pittoni, c. 1740

© National Gallery, London
Nativity scene, but under X-Ray and cleaning, the figure of God the Father and the Holy Ghost appeared. Therefore, probably a Double Trinity which is very rare. Apart from unfinished and damaged Piazzetta, this is 1st 18th Century Venetian - indeed Italian - altar piece to enter the National Gallery collection.
