Sir John Lavery, 1912

This work is part of the J W Blyth collection of 116 paintings. Mr J.W. Blyth lived in Kirkcaldy and ran a linen mill there. His house was filled with his large art collection and he lent a large number of the paintings to the gallery during his lifetime. He was gallery convener for some time and grandfather to Michael Portillo, former Conservative MP.
