Mountain Landscape - Cwm Trifaen

Alfred William Hunt, 1856

This fine watercolour is one of Alfred William HuntÂ’s finest paintings of Wales. It shows the upper end of Cwm Tryfan, a glaciated valley in Snowdonia, seen from the upper reaches of Nant Gwern y Gof. The peak of Glyder Fach can be seen through the mist on the horizon, while the flank of the Tryfan mountain can be seen to the right.
