Model of the Napoleonic ship 'L'Alexandre'

Unknown artist, early 19th century

A model of the ship 'L'Alexandre', one of the largest ships in Napoleon's navy and dating from the Napoleonic wars. The model was carved in bone by French Prisoners of War who may have been held in Dartmoor prison. The model is presented inside a glass case.
