Aimé-Jules Dalou, 1873–1902

A woman seated on a basket suckles a child on her right knee. The left foot is drawn back, and the head bend down towards the left shoulder which is thrust forward. One of five bequests to the Fitzwilliam and British Museum by Sir Sidney Colvin through the Art Fund in 1927.
