Manuscript of 'Vocabularios ex quo'

Latin-Middle High German dictionary. Finished on Feb 23rd, 1448, probably in Austria. In contemporary binding. A paper label laid down on the spine bears the inscription 'Henr Zach Proca/ Vocabular / Latino-germ/ 1448' in a 19th-century hand. This work was donated by Campbell Dodgson, who presented 10 works on paper to the British Museum through the Art Fund between 1907 and 1928 and bequeathed a large collection of etchings by William Strang in 1952.
