Keith Vaughan is known as one of the Neo- Romantic school of British artists who emerged during the Second World War. This oil pastel dates from the mature period of the artist’s career, when his work became more abstract. The Young Gallery has two early drawings by Vaughan in its collection and this larger work, bequeathed by the late lawyer and ICA chairman Laurence Harbottle, joins them there.
